On the 5th February 1989 Concorde recorded a remarkable and memorable flight for 100 very privileged passengers. The supersonic aircraft staged a whirlwind tour flight from the Canadian city of Ottawa to the North Pole and back.
This truly historical flight is celebrated in a superb commemorative envelope from the Cambridge Stamp Centre. The cover illustrates the cold wasteland of the Arctic Circle and a photograph of Concorde as she performed a fly-past over the Peace Tower on route to Ottawa’s International Airport. The cover is personally autographed by the Concorde pilot in command of the flight Captain Harry J. Linfield.
