Concorde, the worlds only
supersonic airliner made her final landing at Filton on
the 26th November 2003. Filton is now the home of Airbus
but it was once the base of the British Aircraft
Corporation. The corporation was the British half of the
Anglo-French consortium that built Concorde. It is
therefore very fitting that the last Concorde ever built,
G-BOAF should go back to Filton for display where all the
British-made models were constructed and tested.
The Cambridge Stamp Centre have a superb envelope
featuring Concorde and her final landing at Filton. The
cover has a special pictorial postmark for the 23rd
November 2004 the anniversary of the last landing. In
addition the cover is personally autographed by Captain
Mike Bannister.
